Growing up in South Africa, I was immersed in a rich tapestry of cultures, religions, and traditions.
Yet, the books available to me rarely reflected this diversity—I struggled to see myself represented.
Through my stories, I strive to create a world where every child can find themselves in the pages they read while also discovering and celebrating the experiences of others.
Growing up with dyslexia and ADHD, reading often felt like a chore rather than a source of joy. I quickly lost interest in books—but I never lost my love for storytelling.
Everything changed when I began turning my daydreams into fairytales. That’s when I truly fell in love with books and writing.
To me, success isn’t about overcoming imperfections—it’s about embracing them and turning them into strengths.
I live in the moment, embracing each day as a chance to learn, step outside my comfort zone, and explore our big, beautiful world.
As an early years educator, I’ve seen firsthand the pure joy that books bring to young children. The countless little ones I’ve taught over the past five years have all left their mark on me, shaping the stories I tell today.
